AI tools for job search
Looking for a job is a long, repetitive project with a lot of reading in it: postings, company pages, your own resume in five versions. AI helps with exactly that part. The tools here scan job boards, score postings against what you want, tailor a resume without inventing experience, and let you practise interviews. The deciding and the talking are still yours.
Where AI saves time in a job search
Triage is the biggest win. An agent that reads fifty postings and tells you which five match your skills, location and salary floor gives you back an evening. Tailoring is next: matching a resume's wording to a posting's, while keeping every claim true.
Tracking matters more than people expect. A simple tracker, kept up by an assistant, stops the follow-ups from slipping.
Interview practice is the other strong use. An assistant that has read the posting and your resume can ask the questions a hiring manager is likely to ask, and point out where your answers ran long or missed the point.
What to be careful with
Never let a tool add experience or numbers you cannot defend in an interview. Recruiters read a lot of AI-written resumes and spot the inflated ones.
Read the terms before you connect LinkedIn or a job board to an automation tool. Some sites limit automated activity, and a blocked account costs more than the time saved. Interview copilots that run during a live interview raise their own questions; practise with them, then go in on your own.

Can AI apply to jobs for me?
Some tools in this list can fill in applications, but mass applying rarely works. Use AI to find and prepare for the right roles, and send fewer, better applications yourself.
Is it OK to use AI to write my resume?
Using it to edit and tailor is common and fine. Make sure every line is true and sounds like you, because the interview will test both.
